Use
In this IMG activity you define the impairment procedure.
In the impairment procedure you define the following parameters which are accessed when the impairment is recorded:
- Exchange Rate Type
The system accesses rates of this rate type when converting foreign exchange rates during the recording of impairments. This may be necessary for example if the position currency differs from the valuation currency.
- Net Present Value Type
When you record impairments for a loan, you must record the net present value - based on this net present value type - in the application under Transaction Manager -> Securities -> Accounting -> Valuation -> Enter Prices/Net Present Values for Special Valuation.
- Rate/Price Type
When you record impairments for a securities position, you must record the impairment rate - based on the rate type entered here - in the application under Transaction Manager -> Securities -> Accounting -> Valuation -> Enter Prices/Net Present Values for Special Valuation.
Once you have defined the impairment procedure you must assign the corresponding position management procedure under Transaction Manager -> General Settings -> Accounting -> Settings for Position Management ->Define Position Management Procedure.
