In this IMG activity, you assign the update types created in activity 'Define Update Types' to the various usages. It is possible to assign one update type to several usages.
You assign an update type to a usage when the update type has been generated by that usage and when the update type is processed further in the usage.
The following usages require update types:
0001 Transaction management
0002 Securities account management
0003 Securities account transfer
0004 Corporate action
0005 Exercise rights
0006 Accrual/deferral
0007 Other flows (Exercise of rights)
1000 Operative loans management
2001 Margin management listed options and futures
9000 Initialize positions
9001 Derived business transactions
9002 Key date valuation
9004 Local currency reconciliation
9005 Hedge Accounting
9006 Valuation class transfer
9007 Transfer account assignment reference.

Example
You assign the usage 'Securities account management' to all update types, which are required for managing positions, or for which you may have to define specific information for securities account management.

Requirements
You must have created the update types by choosing 'Define Update Types' .
Standard settings
In the sample Customizing delivered with the system, update types have been defined and assigned to usages, and specified for different usages. We recommend that you use the sample Customizing as a guide for setting up your own Customizing.
Activities
- Select a usage.
- Choose 'New entries'.
- Use the F4 Help to select the required update types for the usage.
- Save your entries.
