Use
In this IMG activity you specify whether or not the update type is relevant for posting.
This can depend on the valuation area. This means that you can post an update type in one valuation area and not in another.
Note:
If you flag an update type as not relevant for posting it is not posted even if an account determination was specified in Define Account Determination.
Requirements
You must have defined the update types already.
Activities
- Select New Entries.
- Choose an update type.
- You have the following input options:
- If the update type is only relevant for posting in one (or more selected) valuation area(s), assign the valuation area(s) and set the indicator (in each case) to relevant for posting.
- If the update type is relevant for posting in all valuation areas, do not assign any valuation area to the update type and only set the relevant for posing indicator.
- If the update type is not relevant for posting in one (or few) valuation areas, define an entry first, indicating that this update type is relevant for posting in all valuation areas (see 3b). Define an additional entry for the valuation area(s) in which the update type is not posting relevant by assigning each valuation area to the update type and not setting the relevant for posting indicator.
Note:
The system reads these tables by first checking whether or not valuation area dependent entries exist. If entries do exist, the update type is posted to these valuation areas, or not as the case may be. The system then looks for an entry relevant for all valuation areas indicating that the update type is relevant for posting. If an entry to this effect exists, the update type is posted in accordance with the specified account determination in all valuation areas (without conflicting entries).
If an entry is not found in this table, or there is no entry indicating that the update type is relevant for posting, it is not posted.
