In this IMG activity you define price indexes.

Enter the values of the price indexes by choosing 'Market Data Management -> Manual Market Data Entry -> Securities and Indexes -> Enter Price Index Values'.

You need price indexes for mapping index-linked bonds.

In the IMG of the Securities area, you can define price indexes, enter values and make settings for the update types. To do this, choose 'Master Data -> Specific Class Data -> Settings for Special Types of Securities -> Index-Linked Bonds' and select the activity 'Edit Price Index'.

Requirements

You first need to define the price index. You do this in the IMG for Corporate Finance Management by either choosing 'Basic Functions -> Market Data Management -> Master Data -> Indexes -> Define Price Index' or 'Securities -> Master Data -> Specific Class Data -> Settings for Special Types of Securities -> Index-Linked Bonds -> Edit Price Index'.

Activities

  1. Choose 'New Entries'.
  2. Assign a name to the price index.
  3. Enter a descriptive long name in the 'Index Text' field.
  4. Enter the Index base.
  5. Enter the 'Daily method'.
  6. Specify the number of decimal places to which rounding has to be performed.
  7. Specify how interpolation has to take place.

    Note:

    For the time being, only linear interpolation is supported.

  8. Enter the increment.

    Note:

    For the time being, only daily interpolation is supported.

  9. Save your entries.
