Use
In this step, you set up parameters in your SAP System to process exception handling.
During a payroll run, there are various situations that can occur, which, while they do not prevent the payroll run from being completed, should be dealt with. For example, you could create an exception to find out which employees were given a tax refund in a given tax year.
In order to deal with such occurrences, we have created exception handling, so you can determine which situations you would like brought to your attention.
Requirements
You should have already maintained the feature HR-XX: Exception Reporting - Determine Tolerance Group (EXCEP) from the previous IMG step.
Note:The tables and field names for exception handling are pre-defined by SAP and cannot be modified by customers. For your information, these tables and fields can be accessed through the view cluster VC_T56E5.
Standard settings
Activities
- Execute the activity.
- In the Tolerance Group field, create a new entry for each value set up in the feature EXCEP (from the previous step).
- In the Tolerance Group Description field, enter the corresponding text.
- Select a Tolerance Group and choose Exception Rules. Note: This should be done for each Tolerance Group created.
The Exception Rules: Overview screen appears.
- In the Exception Rules section, define the various rules for a tolerance group by entering each rule with the corresponding descriptions.
- Next, select each rule created and choose Sub Rules.
The Sub Rules: Overview screen appears.
- To create a new Sub Rule, define each sub rule and enter the corresponding tolerance conditions.
Note: In addition, choose Details to modify a sub rule and also view all tolerance condition criteria. For example, this is the case if you enter values in the section Comparison Values to evaluate dates. If you would like to evaluate which employees within your organization are over age 65, proceed as follows:
- In the field Table Name, choose P0002 (for infotype Personal Data (0002).
- In the field Field Name, choose AGE .
- In the field Relational Operator, choose Greater than.
- Finally, in the field Value, enter the 65.
If you want to evaluate the employees who were born before January 30, 1950, proceed as follows:
- In the field Table Name, choose P0002 (for infotype Personal Data (0002).
- In the field Field Name, choose GBDAT (Date of Birth).
- In the field Relational Operator, choose Less than.
- Finally, in the field Code, enter the value 19500130.
Note: The date in the field Code must be entered as YYYYMMDD (Year, Month, Day).
- Next, go back to the Exception Rules section.
- Select a Tolerance Group and choose Message (perform this step for each of the rules created).
- Enter all the message details corresponding to the rule.
- Save your entries.
