In order to assess whether or not a accountholder exeeded the contribution limit, it may be necessary to add the contributions made to different plantypes. In order to make this possible, one or more plantypes can be associated to a contribution limit code. These contribution limit codes can be maintained using this transaction.
After a contribution identifier has been created, contibution limits can be associated with this contribution limit code.
Example
The IRS requires that the contributions made to a Roth IRA need to be aggregated to those made to a traditional IRA (of the same accountholder). Therefore, plantypes 01 and 02 need to be associated to the same contribution limit code.
