Description
The system calculates Safety Stock levels using historical usage data, the factory calendar, and the Calendar Usage Profile.
The length of each day is a factor that must be considered when calculating Safety Stock. The length of each day is represented in TSW as a percentage value of the use of each day.
The Safety Stock Calendar Usage Profile makes it possible to define a percentage value for each weekday. If no percent values are entered, all days are assumed to be full days. When a profile is defined and assigned, any changes apply only at the profile level. The profile represents the company's opening hours policy, which generally will be similar for many locations.
Example
A given location is only open half a day on Saturday. As a result, the length of this day is defined as 50 percent in the Calendar Usage Profi for purpose of calculating the Safety Stock level.
Note
The percentage for each day can be more than 100 percent.
