In this IMG activity, you carry out the customizing that will determine exactly how the Report Master Data Set-Up screen will look in terms of the fields available, and the drop-down list values available for those fields. You can specify the master data set-up for states and for federal regulatory reports (MMS; for a detailed description of state and MMS steps for specific reports, please scroll down in this document).

Please note that the menu structure in this activity (on the left) operates in a drill-down manner: each node is processed before the node under it. Thus, when you select, select from the top down. You make your selections by double-clicking the menus in descending order at left, and each time that you make a selection at left, the screen frame at right is filled with options for that choice.

In this IMG activity, you set up the possible attributes for specific fields used on reports. The fields appear on the Report Master Data Set-Up screen as master data fields.

Proceed as follows:

1. In the Dialog Structure screen frame on the left of the screen ('at left'), double click on 'Reporting Agencies'. In the screen frame at the right ('at right'), the full list of available reporting agencies is displayed (all the state agencies, plus the U.S. federal MMS agency).

Agencies can be set up in the system based on country and primary geographic location (state) report. For each agency, a variety of reports can be defined. Per report, a report description and an alternate report name can be set up. The alternate report name is used to re-use the same master and setup data for different reports per agency.

2. In the screen frame at the right, select a reporting agency.

3. Within the screen frame at the left ('at left'), now select 'Reports' by double-clicking on it. This provides you a list of reports that you can choose from for that specific agency. Now go back to the screen frame at right, and select a report.

4. At left, double-click on 'Assigned Structures'. At right, all the possible assigned structures for that report are displayed (structures are groups of fields that are held together as dictionary objects, they are like DDIC tables without data records). Select one.

5. At left, double-click 'Maintainable Fields'. Here, you can maintain the following (this provides you with a list of fields per report, and whether or not the field is to have a value list (a group of pre-assigned values that will be used in the drop-down list of that field on the report master data creation screen), and whether or not the field is required. If it does, and is customizeable, you have a choice between 'customizeable' and 'master data' . You can see whether the field is customized or is master data by looking at the content of the VMM column. If it is master data, you will need to maintain data for it on the Data screen tab directly on the Report Master Data Set-Up screen):

The following is a description of the fields on the Display View "Maintainable Fields: Overview screen:

- Field name = Fields that you define here will then appear as fixed values in the drop-down list box on the Data master data screen tab on the main Production Regulatory Reporting screen Report Master Data Set-Up screen ). You maintain the field description, and it is then used in the Data screen tab on the Report Master Data Set-Up screen - as master data, in the Field Name field, in the drop-down list box. If you do not want users of the transaction to be able to enter/maintain data on the Report Master Data Set-Up screen, for a specific field, de-select the "input" (i) flag for that field (leave it unchecked).

- VMM (Value Maintenance Mode) = shows where the field is maintained. This will either be: customizing, or master data.

- Descr. = Free-form text description of the field.

- Req. field = The entry that you put here will define whether or not the field is to be a required field on the Report Master Data Set-Up screen.

- Input / Output flags - These flags define the field as an input field (I) or an output field (O). Leave the output (O) flag set (this controls the content of the list boxes on the Report Master Data Set-Up screen for specific fields; if you de-select Output, you will not be able to see the content of the drop-down boxes on the Report Master Data Set-Up screen). So set Output (O) if you want to see that in the list boxes.

6. Select a field at right, and then at left, double-click on Field Values. In this area, you define field values for agency IDs. The regulatory agency will often have its own internal designation for a specific field, which does not necessarily correspond to your company's. Here, you can link ('map') your own description of a field with the agency ID for that field. To make entries, select Display/Change, and then New Entries.

Reporting level - Here, you define how you would like to split up your organization to generate/submit your reports - you define at what level you would like to report at (this is simply like breaking down the company code into more specific entities - which are mostly defined as geographic reporting entities). The Reporting Level Overview screen will be displayed. Select a relevant reporting agency and then double-click on the right. Here, you set the default reporting level for the reports that you will be using. You can report on a company level, or on a more specific level (organizational level). This allows you to completely separate reports for various organizational levels.

For example, you could have different reports based on organization level 2 - one for onshore, and one for offshore entities within that org. level. You can enter org. levels down to level 4 for each of your companies.

To add entries, select Change/Display and then New Entries. In the Reporting level screen at the right, enter the agency, report name, and then under RL (report level), set the report level per company code. The reporting level can be org. 1, org. 2, org. 3, or org. 4. If you select org.level 4, it means that all levels up to and including 4 will be included.

The operator and contract level have to be maintained at that level as well.

You can assign a custom account group to the organizational level, from which group the contract customers can come.

Output options - This area affects which format the Report Master Data Set-Up screen (O3UREP_MASTER) will use in formatting the output of reports. In the Report Master Data Set-Up screen, you can choose between smartforms (grahical form) or file. This section of the IMG functions like a container for user exits. It allows you to enter your own function module name in the Funct.mod. field, which the O3UREP_MASTER transaction will then call when one of the format options is chosen (when you choose "hardcopy" as output, the system will call the function module that you define here). It is important to note that there are no standard SAP graphical smartform forms, so if you want to use one, you will have to define it here. In the field(s), enter the name of the function module that you intend to use. The month and year allow you to define function modules for specific date ranges. For example, you could define one that is only valid for January-December 2002, and one that is valid from January-December 2003.

-------

Note: For MMS reporting: For the specific fields themselves that are specified here are defined by the MMS. Thus, the fields and field combinations that you will need to use are set by the MMS, but you can define the field attributes here.

--------

Information specific to MMS-PASR customizing:

When you customize this for the MMS-PASR report, you can then later enter comments for the External MP ID, and Facility ID fields on the Data screen tab on the Production Regulatory Reporting 'framework' screen.

1. Under Reporting Agencies, select MMS and then double-click Reports

2. Now select PASR, and make sure that the Comm. flag is set (allows comments to be customized). (If it is not selected, you can go to transaction SM30 and enter the name of the table as OIUREP_REPORTS. Select the Comm.column).

3. Select PASR and then double-click on Maintainable Fields.
