The returns document includes an interface that allows posting of a subsequent document using any SAP transaction. The interface is configured by defining one or more subsequent document classes and assigning these to functions to call the relevant SAP transaction.

Remote Logistics Management (RLM) provides several standard functions for generating subsequent documents, which may be found in function group OIO_RS. These functions will call standard SAP transactions to post some of the more common subsequent documents required for returns. All of these functions call standard SAP transactions using the Batch Data Communication (BDC) technique.

This configuration option allows modifcation of the field mapping from the returns document header and item to the subsequent document during the preparation of batch input. It applies to functions in the group OIO_RS that are provided by RLM. Any other functions that are used to post subsequent documents, for example functions written by the customer, may use alternative methods of field mapping.

For each subsequent document class, you specify the screens that will be processed by the associated posting function. These are provided with RLM as standard and it is unlikely that they should be changed.

For each screen you specify mapping from fields on the returns document to fields on the screen. Alternatively you may specify contstant values to be mapped to the screen.
