Here you define business types. Processes such as scheduling, stock projection, reporting and so on, might work differently for different lines of business. Business types are used to differentiate between different lines of business.
In Trader's and Scheduler's Workbench (TSW) you define business types to separate nomination data and master data according to different organizational units within the company.
Example
'Crude Materials' and 'Refined Products' are typical business types within pipeline scheduling.

Note: The business types are also used within the Service Station Retailing (SSR) component to define the 'Retail Network Business Type' that distinguishes between fuels, car wash, and other types of service station business.
Some of the indicators available in Customizing for business types are only relevant for SSR, such as the 'SSR Application flags' and the RFC destinations.
