The system calculates Target Stock levels using historical usage data, the factory calendar, and the Calendar Usage Profile.
The length of each day is a factor that must be considered when calculating Target Stock. The length of each day is represented in TSW as a percentage value of the use of each day.
You use the Target Stock Calendar Usage Profile to define a percentage value for each weekday. If no percent values are entered, all days are assumed to be full days. When a profile is defined and assigned, any changes apply only at the profile level. The profile represents the company's opening hours policy, which generally will be similar for many locations.
Example
A given location is only open half a day on Saturday. As a result, the length of this day is defined as 50 percent in the Calendar Usage Profile for the purpose of calculating the Target Stock level.
