In this IMG activity, you define the program patterns by combining program plans with stages.
A program can be divided into several stages. Each of these stages can be assigned to different program plans. In the previous IMG activities, you defined the required stages and program plans.
In this activity, you define the program patterns by assigning stages to the program plans.
For program plans with more than one stage, you must define a sort sequence that determines the display hierarchy in the Program Catalog.
Example
Some of the programs at your university are divided into three stages. Each stage represents one year of study.
You can map this information in the system by setting up program plans and stages.
In the previous IMG activities, you set up the program plan three stages and defined the following stages:
- Stage 1
- Stage 2
- Stage 3
In this IMG activity, you combine program plans with stages to map the pattern of your programs in the system. A program pattern can, for example, be:
Program plan Stage Sort sequence
Three stages Stage 1 10
Three stages Stage 2 20
Three stages Stage 3 30
The sort sequence defines that Three stages - Stage 1 appears before Three stages - Stage 2 in the Program Catalog.
Requirements
You have defined the required stages and program plans.
Standard settings
Recommendation
Activities
- Define the program patterns by combining program plans with stages as required.
- Assign a sort sequence to each combination of program plan and stage to define its order in the Program Catalog.
Note: If you do not assign a sort sequence, the Program Catalog is displayed in random order.
