In this section, you can set up the requirements for increasing wage types by a difference on the basis of the employee pay scale structure, i.e. pay scale type and area, employee subgroup grouping for the collective agreement provision, pay scale group and level (Variant D or F).
For variant D, the difference can be defined as a percentage or an amount with variant D, or as a percentage in numerator/denominator representation with variant F. When specifying a percentage, you can also define a minimum amount to which the basic pay wage type must be increased if this amount is not reached with the percentage increase. You can also specify a maximum amount to which the percentage increase should be limited.
Example
The following examples pertain to variant D:
- Increase by entering a difference amount
You would like to increase the Monthly salary basic pay wage type of all employees with a certain pay scale structure by $150 to $2000.
- Increase by entering a difference percentage
You want to increase the Monthly salary basic pay wage type for all employees with a certain pay scale structure by 10 %. If we apply this increase to the above example, the $2000 monthly salary would be increased to $2200.
- Increase by entering a difference percentage and minimum amount
You want to increase the Monthly salary basic pay wage type for all employees with a certain pay scale structure by 10 %. The minimum amount must be $2250 regardless of the amount calculated on the basis of the percentage increase. An initial amount of $2000 would therefore not be increased to $2200 but to $2250.
- Calculate difference by totalling several wage types
You want to increase the Monthly salary basic pay wage type for all employees with a certain pay scale structure from $2000 by a difference which is the total of three other wage types.
- Calculate difference using a percentage rate
You want to increase the Monthly salary basic pay wage type for all employees with a certain pay scale structure from $2000 by a difference which is 60 % of the total of three other wage types.
If the increase is to be performed with a difference percentage, but it exists as a fraction, or the number of characters in the field is not sufficient for the percentage increase, this percentage can be entered as a numerator/denominator combination. In this case, variant F must be chosen. The remaining properties (for example, minimum amount) behave in the same way as for variant D. Therefore, they are not mentioned below again.
Requirements
- You have defined pay scale types, groups and levels.
- You have compiled a list of the collective agreements valid in your company.

Activities
The following actions pertain to the uses of variant D which are described above:
- In the Collective agreement provision grpg. field, enter the subgroup grouping for the collective agreement provision for each pay scale group and area.
- Define the pay scale group and level for which the standard pay is to be increased.
- Enter increase variant D.
- Specify the date on which the standard pay increase is to become effective.
Proceed as follows if you want to increase the wage type by a difference amount:
- Enter the wage type to be increased.
- Enter the difference by which the basic pay wage type value is to be increased.
- Define how the amount is to be rounded.
Proceed as follows if you want to increase the wage type by a difference percentage:
- Enter the wage type to be increased.
- Enter the percentage by which the basic pay wage type is to be increased.
- Specify an operation (optional) and either a minimum (operation <) or maximum amount (operation >).
- Define how the amount is to be rounded.
Proceed as follows if you want the system to calculate the
difference by totalling several wage types:
- In the Wage type field, enter the wage type to be increased.
- In the Reference wage type field, enter the value *XX*. Here, XX refers to an identifier which is entered as a partial module key in the subsequent view (*01* for example).
- Define how the amount is to be rounded
- Call up the view for base wage type valuation.
- Enter module TRFXX (e.g. TRF01).
- In the Valuated wage type field, enter the wage type to be increased.
- Enter the sequential number 01.
- In the Base wage type field, enter the wage type whose amount field value is to be used as a calculated difference for valuation of the wage type.
- Assign a sequential number to other wage types for the same entry, and enter these other wage types.
Note: The 'Percentage' field is not evaluated. The following describes how to define a percentage.
Proceed as follows if you want to calculate the difference using a percentage rate:
- In the Wage type field, enter the wage type to be increased.
- In the Reference wage type field, enter the value *XX*. Here, XX refers to an identifier which is entered as a partial module key in the subsequent view (*01* for example).
- Enter the percentage rate which will evaluate the wage type amount total in the subsequent view.
- Specify an operation (optional) and minimum (operation <) or maximum amount (operation >).
- Define how the amount is to be rounded.
- Call up the view for base wage type valuation.
- Enter module TRFXX (e.g. TRF01).
- In the Valuated wage type field, enter the wage type to be increased by the difference amount.
- Enter the sequential number '01'.
- In the Base wage type field, enter the wage type whose amount field value is to be used as the absolute amount for wage type valuation.
- Assign a sequential number to other wage types for the same entry, and enter these other wage types.
Note: The 'Percentage' field is not evaluated.
