In this step, you define the requirements for performing a dynamic pay scale increase using the following increase variants:
Increase Variant Meaning
Variant A Increase wage type to an absolute amount
Variant D Increase by a difference
Variant F Increase wage type by a difference percentage that is
represented as a break
Variant G Increase total basic pay to an absolute amount
Variant S Reduce wage type by the total amounts of the pay
increase for other wage types
Variant E Evaluate according to other pay scale group
Variant T Insert new wage type
Variant C Restrict time period for existing wage type
Variant R Replace an existing wage type with another

Requirements
You have defined the following:
- Pay scale types, groups and levels
- Employee subgroup groupings for collective agreement
- Wage types if the variant creates a wage type

Activities
Depending on how you want to calculate the dynamic pay scale increase, that is, depending on which increase variant you want to use, you need to configure the system differently.
- If you want to use variant A, carry out the activities described in: Increase Wage Type to an Absolute Amount
- If you want to use variant G, carry out the activities described in: Increase Total Basic Pay to an Absolute Amount
- If you want to use variant S, carry out the activities described: Depreciation Variant
- If you want to use variant D or F, carry out the activities described in: Increase by a Difference
- If you want to use variant E, carry out the activities described in: Evaluate According to Other Pay Scale Group
- If you want to use variant T, carry out the activities described in: Insert New Wage Type
- If you want to use variant C, carry out the activities described in: Restrict Time Period for Existing Wage Type
