Standard settings

The following search helps are provided in the standard system:

  • PAPMN Personal data
  • PAPMO Job advertisement
  • PREMR Reference personnel number
  • PREMW Recurring tasks

Recommendation

SAP recommends that you use the name ZPAPM + number (for example, ZPAPM0) for all the basic search helps that you set up yourself.SAP suggests that you use the name Z_PAPM + number (Z_PAPM0, for example) for the selection methods you defined.

Activities

Firstly, create a basic search help in the PAPM object. Use the recommended naming convention for customer search helps. When you create the basic search help in the PAPM object, this search help is integrated into the collective search help.

  1. Using the forward navigation, you access the search help maintenance screen.
  2. Enter a short text for the search help on the maintenance screen.
  3. Specify the selection methods required for the basic search help on the maintenance screen. Note SAP's recommendations for customer-specifc names for selection methods.
  4. Specify the dialog type for the search help.
  5. Define the parameters for the search help and thereby specify the import and export parameters. Note that PERNR (personnel number) is always an export paramter.
  6. Assign a one-digit ID to the search help hot key. The search help is called up using this ID.
  7. Activate the search help you have created.
  8. In order to use the customer search helps in the logical database report PAP, generate the selection program for the PAP logical database using the generation report Generator for MC Access Path of LDB PAP (DBPAPGMC).
