This IMG activity provides you information on the special features of the payroll account form. This information is relevant to set up the employee's address.

For further information, refer to the section "Individual fields", or to the documentation on the form editor in the SAP Library:

Addresses can only be displayed at fixed positions (individual fields).

The procedure for setting up an address differs from the procedure described in the IMG activity "Individual fields" with regard to the entries made in the field Table field in the table Addresses. Only the following values are used in this field for addresses:

  • LINE0
  • LINE1
  • LINE2
  • LINE3
  • LINE4
  • LINE5
  • LINE6
  • LINE7
  • LINE8
  • LINE9
  • LINEK

Each of these values represents an address line which cannot be determined more precisely, rather than a specific piece of information. Several entries are required for a complete address. The entry for the first address line must have the value "LINE0" in the field Table field. The entry for the second address line must have the value "LINE1", and so on. The values for individual lines must, therefore, always start with "LINE0", be sequential, and be assigned without gaps.

The number of entries required for an address depends on how many address lines are to be printed on the payroll account. A maximum of 10 address lines can be defined. If you only require one address line, use the value "LINEK".

When creating a payroll account, SAP uses an internal address layout program which uses defined address lines to create the address format according to the postal regulations of the country in question.

The scope of the address layout depends on the number of address lines defined. If a single address line or only a few address lines are defined, the only address elements printed are those that are indispensable, such as NAME, STREET or P.O. BOX and CITY. Data may also be deleted if necessary. If a greater number of address lines is defined, address information, such as FORM OF ADDRESS and TITLE, can also be printed. Additional address lines also provide an address layout which is more pleasing to the eye, for example by adding blank lines.

The following is a guideline as to the number of address lines that should be used:

For German-speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria), there should be 3 to 4 address lines.

Examples

The examples are based on form ZK01.

  • Example 1

    You want to create 3 address lines in lines 05 to 07, from column 01, for form "ZK01". The address is to be printed on each page of a payroll account. To do this, enter the following:

PType    Position        Table        Table field            Output length

EP    05    001    ADRS        LINE0            30

EP    06    001    ADRS        LINE1            30

EP    07    001    ADRS        LINE2            30

Three address lines are defined by the values "LINE0", "LINE1" and "LINE2". Length 30 was chosen as the output length of these address lines.

The address could be printed as follows in this example (depending on the country in question):

<Name>

<Street> or <P.O. box>

<Country indicator> <postal/zip code> <city>

  • Example 2

    You want to create 5 address lines in lines 05 to 09, from column 01, for form "ZK01". The address should be printed on every page of the payroll account. To do this, enter the following:

PType    Position        Table        Table field            Output length

EP    05    001    ADRS        LINE0            30

EP    05    001    ADRS        LINE1            30

EP    05    001    ADRS        LINE2            30

EP    05    001    ADRS        LINE3            30

EP    05    001    ADRS        LINE4            30

Five address lines are defined by the values LINE0 through LINE5.

The address could be printed as follows in this example (depending on country):

<Form of address>

<Name>

<Street> or <P.O. box>

Blank line

<Country indicator> <Postal/Zip code> <City>

Procedure

Make the required entries using the form editor.
