This IMG activity enables you to set up the required text modules.
Text modules generally contain one or more text elements which can be combined with graphic elements (for example "Personnel number", "Social Insurance number", "Pay scale area"). They must be set up for all data required in a payroll account fulfilling the following criteria:
- The data does not belong to the form background.
- The data is printed in the same way and in the same position on every payroll account.
- The piece of data is greater than 10 characters
Text modules can also be set up for data which meets the above mentioned criteria and whose length is less than or equal to 10. This is specially advisable in the following cases:
- When the same form is required in several languages.
In this case, the use of text modules enables the form to be printed in more than one language since text modules, unlike most data (such as fixed layout data), are assigned to a language indicator. As a result, every text module can be stored several times in the system for a single form under the required language indicator and, thus, in different languages. Therefore, when creating the payroll account, those text module entries whose language indicator matches the printout language specified for creating the payroll account are used.
- The data entered appears in several positions on the form (such as dotted lines) and may be changed at a later date.
In this case, the use of a text module reduces the time required to change the form, since you need only change the text module and not every entry containing relevant data.
IDENTIFICATION OF TEXT MODULES
Every text module must be assigned an identifier by which it can be called by the system. This identifier (for example "TEXT01") is stored in the following four fields:
- Window code
- Group number
- Text position indicator
- Continuation indicator
The character string "TEXT" is stored in the fields Window code and Group number for every text module.
The serial number of the text module is stored in the fields Text position indicator and Continuation indicator. The Text position indicator field represents the tens column number, and the Continuation indicator field represents the units column.
Examples
At the end of this activity you will find an overview of the abbreviations used in the above examples under the heading "Abbreviations used".
Example 1
You want to set up the text module "Personnel number" for form "ZK01" with identifier "TEXT01". You must make the following entry:
Wndw G I N ....+...1....+....2....+....3....+....4....+....5
TE XT 0 1 Personnel number
The text module identifier is stored from left to right in the four fields Window code,Group number,Text position indicator and Continuation indicator. The text module itself is entered in the text area.
Example 2
You want to set up the text module "Personnel number" for form "ZK01" with identifier "TEXT01". The payroll accounts must be printed in German and English. In this example, you must proceed as follows:
- Press the function key Execute in the structure.
- In the window Determine work area: Entry displayed by the system, enter a D for German in the field Language indicator and then the corresponding country grouping. Then press the function key Continue.
- Create the following text module:
Wndw G I N ....+...1....+....2....+....3....+....4....+....5
TE XT 0 1 Personnel number
- Leave the entry screen by pressing the function key Back twice.
- Press the Execute function key in the structure again.
- In the window Determine work area: Entry displayed by the system, enter an E for English in the field Language indicator and then the corresponding couuntry grouping. Then press the function key Continue.
- Create the following text module:
Wndw G I N ....+...1....+....2....+....3....+....4....+....5
TE XT 0 1 Personnel number
The example shows that a text module for multilingual payroll accounts must be created in all required printout languages. The language of the text module must match the corresponding language indicator.
Abbreviations used
In the examples shown, the following abbreviations are used:
Wndw Window code
G Group number
I Text position indicator
N Continuation indicator
