Recommendation
SAP recommnds you to always draw up a paper draft of the required payroll journal on squared paper or on graph paper before starting configuration. This will help you to avoid errors during configuration.
Activities
Determine the format (portrait/landscape) and the number of lines and columns for the required form.
Mark the individual lines and columns on a sheet of squared paper or or graph paper by numbering them, starting with number "1".
Enter the information required for the later payroll journal in the required position on the paper draft. Proceed as follows:
Enter the structure of the required page header at the topmost position on the paper draft.
Underneath, enter the structure for an employee string.
Enter the structure of a totals display at the bottommost position on the paper draft.
Always make sure that the corresponding information is entered starting from the required column. The line number at which the information of a display type starts is irrelevant.
