In this activity you make settings relating to the definition of new scenarios in addition to the standard scenarios, and to customer-specific modifications to standard scenarios in Manager's Desktop.

A scenario consists of all the theme categories available to the user and the functions within them which are grouped together in a function tree (transactions, reports, and so on) (Example: the standard scenario MWB1).

Activities

  1. In the Define Scenarios step you can define new scenarios or modify existing SAP standard scenarios.

However, note that when you update the system, modifications to SAP standard scenarios will be deleted. SAP therefore recommends that you make changes to existing scenarios using the operation Redefine Standard Scenarios, which is explained below.

If, when you define a new application scenario, you enter the name of a scenario in the Referenced Scenario field, this means that the scenario being defined will automatically inherit all entries for the referenced scenario in the tables T77MWBFCH, T77MWBD and T77MWBK. These tables are the basis of the Define Scenario-Specific Settings, Determine Views of the Organizational Structure and Determine Views per Category activities.

You can find out about the meaning of the other fields and indicators in the Redefine Standard Scenarios step below.

  2. In the Redefine Standard Scenarios step, you make settings relating to modifications of existing scenarios.

These modifications allow you to change the background picture and the company logo on the initial screen, skip the initial screen, hide the virtual roots, and deactivate the drag and drop function for making reorganizational changes.

    1. In the Scenario field, enter the name of the scenario to which the settings apply. Here, you can only enter names of scenarios which are stored in the table for theDefine Scenarios step.
    2. Enter the name of the background picture or the company logo in the relevant fields. If you do not make any entries here, the system automatically takes the entries stored in the table for the Define Scenarios step.
    3. With the indicator Skip Initial Screen you specify that the system skips the initial screen and opens up a particular theme category. The first time you open Manager's Desktop the system will display the theme category that you entered first (see the operation Determine Views of Organizational Structure).
    4. When you re-enter Manager's Desktop, the last theme category and the last tab page you accessed are displayed.
    5. With the indicator Hide Virtual Root you specify that the virtual root, which is the basis of the organizational area of responsibility on the right side of the screen, in other words the user who holds a chief position, is hidden in all theme categories with the corresponding structure.
    6. With the indicator Reorganization Disallowed you specify that the line manager may not execute any reorganizational changes using the drag & drop function within his/her organizational area of responsibility. This means that the subcategory Reorganization in the function tree of the Organisation theme category is likewise hidden.

Further notes

Please note that the names of the scenarios you define must be in the customer name range ('Y' to 'Z').
