In this step, you determine the various views of the organizational structure available to the user, and you can overwrite the existing evaluation path texts.

Standard settings

In the standard, the start evaluation path set in the table for the activity Define Scenario-Specific Settings (Step Define Application Scenarios) under Evaluation Path is SAP_MANG, which returns the organizational units headed by the person logging on. The organizational units selected in this way, with the corresponding positions and assigned holders, are then displayed in a tree structure.

In the Manager's Desktop scenario, evaluation paths for the tab pages Directly Reporting Chief, Cost Centers, Directly Subordinate Employees, Project Assignments, and Applicants are delivered with the standard system.

Activities

  1. By specifying evaluation paths in the operation Define Views (Evaluation Paths), you determine the various views of the organizational structure available to the user on the right side of the screen via tab pages.

To specify these views, you need a start evaluation path and an evaluation path which follows it. The start evaluation path determines the start objects for the various tab pages corresponding to the views. A hierarchical structure of these objects is constructed using the second evaluation path.

To specify start objects, you can either use the start evaluation path defined for the whole scenario under Evaluation Path in the table for the activity Define Scenario-Specific Settings (step Define Application Scenarios) or, for individual tab pages, choose one of the alternatives in this step:

    • Determine the start evaluation path (Column Start Objects Evaluation Path), or
    • Determine a function module (Start Objects Function)

Once you have specified start objects for the tab pages, enter a second evaluation path (Evaluation path). This determines the number of objects in the corresponding structure. Each tab page corresponds to a table entry in this step.

      Make the following settings:

  1. Under Order, enter a combination of numbers to specify the order in which the various organizational structure views should appear on the tab pages.
  2. Under Evaluation Path Text, enter texts relating to the evaluation paths. The evaluation paths are in table T778A.
  3. In the operation Change Evaluation Path Texts (see below), you can overwrite the texts entered in this column.
  4. Enter the description of the corresponding icons in the appropriate column. Note that from release 4.6A the icons can no longer be displayed on the tab pages.
  5. Under Structure Type, enter descriptions of the column combinations shown on the respective tab pages. See also the documentation on the section Column Configuration.

  1. In the step Change Evaluation Path Texts, you can overwrite the existing texts in the table for that operation with customer-specific ones. The system then displays these texts on the corresponding tab pages of the application scenario.

Further notes

In the operation Maintain Evaluation Paths, you can define new evaluation paths.
