In this IMG activity, you can:
- Activate certain functions (for example, APO-TSW functions that are related to event tracking).
The functions are set inactive by default. They can be activated using function module OIL_GET_ONOFF.
- Display which applications are active at cross-client level.
- Activate certain applications or packages at client level.
The functions are set active by default. If there is no entry in the corresponding cross-client Customizing table TBE11, these functions remain active. They can be activated using function module ISOIL_ACTIVE with parameter P_SUBAREA = 'CLIENT'.
This function was originally developed to switch off SAP Oil & Gas if the current client is to be used for Catch Weight Management (CWM). This means that in each CWM client, SAP Oil & Gas must be inactive.
Note that within Release 472, you can use SAP Oil & Gas and SAP Catch Weight Management in one system, but not in one client.
- Run a check/list program for optional and mandatory components (support package level, further add-on requirements, and so on) for the add-on components SAP Catch Weight Management and SAP Oil & Gas. The installation procedure for SAP Catch Weight Management and SAP Oil & Gas checks the preconditions and if one of these is not fulfilled, the program lists the errors. For information on activating SAP Catch Weight Management, refer also to the Implementation Guide for SAP Catch Weight Management.

Recommendation
In general, we recommend that you do not change the activation setting. Be very careful if you change this because uncontrolled changes can result in inconsistencies in the application data.
