In this IMG activity, you define product sets. In Collateral Management, product sets are used internally, to validate collateral terms for a set of receivables that belong to a beneficiary business partner. The links between collateral agreement - receivable can only be generated for those receivables that are validated against collateral terms.
Note: Collateral terms are defined for a combination of:
- Collateral agreement portion
- Business partner of the receivables
- Organizational unit to which the agreement belongs
- Product set of the receivable.
In the validation process, the receivables of a business partner for the specified organizational unit and currency are grouped as selection criteria. Links to collateral agreement can only be maintained for the set of receivables that are filtered based on these selection criteria.
By assigning products and corresponding product classses to a product set, you determine sets of receivables for which collateral terms must be validated together.
Example
You can group together all products for housing loans into one product set. When the collateral terms are required to be validated, you can ensure that all receivables for housing loans are being validated.
