Use

In this IMG activity, you can define part types which you can use to maintain parts for the various collateral objects. Object parts can be used for better description of the collateral objects; they can influence the value of a collateral object.

For example,

  • An aircraft may comprise of a built in kitchen or even a turbine.
  • Devices such as a crane may have components such as individual components of a crane or even auxiliary devices which are necessary for the use of the main device.
  • Vehicles such as a truck may have a loading wall which needs to be identified separately.
  • Inventory (stock) may contain different types of raw materials which can be presented as individual components of a stock.

Note: To use part types, you must assign them to relevant collateral object types, in the Customizing of the respective collateral object types. One part type can be assigned to one or more collateral object types.
