Use

In this IMG activity, you define number range intervals for collateral object bundles. You can use the number range intervals to assign unique semantic identification numbers for object bundles. You can create any number of number range intervals for object bundles. But you can assign only one number range interval to each bundle type.

Note : You can assign the number range intervals to object bundle types in the Implementation Guide (IMG) activity Assign Number Range Types to Collateral Object Bundle Types Number range intervals for object bundle types are valid throughout a client.

Requirements

You must have defined object bundle types for which you require to maintain number range details, in the IMG activity Define Collateral Object Bundle Types.

Standard settings

The standard system provides a number range object CMS_MOV for all collateral objects. The following values have been defined for this number range object:

Sub-object - Object category lists all the possible object categories. It determines that the number ranges are unique for each of the collateral object categories.

Warning limit % - 10 The system alerts the users through a warning message when ninety percent of the numbers in the number range interval have been exhausted.

Activities

To create a new number range for object bundles, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the object category Bundle.
  2. Choose Change Intervals.

The Maintain Number Range Intervals screen appears.

  3. Choose Insert Interval . You can make the following settings:
    1. Number : Enter the number of the number range interval, that is, enter the number of your application component.
    2. From number : Enter the lower limit of the interval.
    3. To number : Enter the upper limit of the interval.
    4. External - Set this flag if you want the user to enter the identification numbers for object bundles. If you do not set this flag, identification numbers will be generated internally. The last number assigned is always displayed in the current number field.
  4. Save your number range
