General Information on the Transfer Category 'Opportunity Conditions'

Some costing procedures require opportunity conditions as well as the costing rule. Together with the costing rule, these conditions control how the opportunity and interest terms contribution of a transaction is calculated. In the case of account transactions in Bank Profitability Analysis and Risk Analysis, the opportunity conditions are maintained directly in the account. When an account from Bank Customer Account (BCA) is costed, you have to enter the opportunity conditions in the Profitability Analysis part of the finance object.

As soon as a financial object with an Profitability Analysis part has been created for an account from BCA, you can use this transfer category to maintain opportunity conditions. The procedure for transferring the condition header and items is similar to the external data transfer (EDT) procedure for accounts.

Receiver Structure

The receiver structure comprises the bank area and the external account number, the mode field, and the fields for the condition header and the condition items. When filling the fields, it is advisable to observe which fields are required and which fields are optional.

The mode field controls whether a condition header or a condition item is created (MODE = I) or changed (MODE = U).

The conditions of an account must not be referred to more than once within a transfer.

Header and Item Structure

An account condition comprises a header and the corresponding items. The header and items are transferred in separate records. The transfer function recognizes whether the record is a header or item record by means of the filled fields. If the validity date DGUEL_KK and the condition type SKOART are filled, the function assumes the record is an item record. If only DGUEL_KK is filled, it assumes the record is a header record.

A condition or parts of a condition must be transferred together in one block. The header can be transferred first, if required, and followed by the items.

Check Concept for Opportunity Condition Transfers

Different checks are carried out depending on the validation level specified :

  1. Validation 0

    No checks

  2. Validation 1

Checks required/optional fields, fixed values and value tables

  3. Validation 2

Checks required/optional fields, fixed values and value tables against database, mode field is overridden (if a record which already exists in the database is to be added, the mode field is set to U).

  4. Validation 3

Checks required/optional fields, fixed values and value tables against database, mode field is not overridden (if a record that already exists in the database is to be added, the mode field is not applied. Instead, the system issues an error message and the corresponding record is marked as containing errors).

When opportunity conditions are transferred, all data has to be checked. For this reason, only validations 2 or 3 are possible. Values 0 and 1 are overridden by validation 3.
