The SAP column framework enables you to customize any standard SAP column group to your own specific requirements. You can find out which customizing adjustments can be made in the Column Framework section. If you customize an SAP standard Column Group to your own requirements, the customized version is used every time the column group is displayed. If you do not want this, in other words, if you only want the customized version to be used in certain places, you must define your own column group and enter it in the relevant places in the table created for this purpose.

If you want one of your own columns to be displayed in the selection area, you must first define it. This takes place in the Define Your Own Column Groups activity.

Where you must enter this column group depends partly on the standard SAP settings, and partly on whether the new column group should be valid for all search tools of a search node within an object manager scenario or only for individual ones.

You can see the the standard SAP search tools of a search node in an object manager scenario in the view V77FSEAT.

If in this view a search tool already has a column group assigned to it, and you want to replace it with your own, you must transfer the relevant entry in step 2 (Replace Column Group for Specific Search Tool) to the corresponding fields and enter the new column group.

If in the above-mentioned view there is no SAP standard column group assigned to the search tools whose column groups you want to replace, and if you want the new column group to be valid for all search tools of a search node within an object manager scenario, all you need to do is specify the new column group once in step 1 (Replace Column Group Across all Search Tools) for all search tools assigned to the search node.

Activities

  1. In the Replace Column Group Across all Search Tools step, make the following settings:
    • Make all field entries except the column group according to the SAP entries in the view T77FNODORD.
  2. In the Replace Column Group for Specific Search Tool step, make the following settings:
    • Make all field entries except the column group according to the SAP entries in the view V77FSEAT.

Further notes

  • If the Set/Get parameter OM_OBJM_SCEN_DISPLAY is set, the system displays in the search area which object manager scenario is active in an instance of the object manager.
  • You can see the standard SAP search nodes in an object manager scenario in the view V77FNODORD.
  • If the parameter OM_ARRAYTYPE_DISPLAY is set, you can get information about which column group in a structural or list display is currently displayed, and which columns are assigned to this column group, by selecting the Technical Info pushbutton.
