In this step, you can adjust the SAP standard column configuration to suit your requirements. You can specify which columns are displayed to the end user and which settings the user can make.

The end user can then show and hide the columns available on his or her user interface using the function "Column configuration".

Requirements

Enter the parameter OM_ARRAYTYPE_DISPLAY for your user name in transaction SU01 (User maintenance) and activate with 'X'.

The "Technical info" button is now available in the "Column configuration" dialog box (you access this by choosing "Column configuration"). This button is not available to the end user. By choosing "Technical info", you can display the technical name for the specific column configuration (Array type) for the control concerned (Tree Control, for example), as well as the individual column.

Standard settings

By making settings in this activity, you overwrite the standard settings. You can see these standard settings using transaction SM30 in the V77ACOL view.

Activities

  1. Select an array type and enter it in the Type of structure field. Select a column and enter it in the Column field.
  2. Specify the sequence of the columns by entering a number.
  3. You can assign a column to a column grouping. You must first have defined a Column Grouping in the corresponding step.
  4. Determine whether the column is
    • fixed
    • not displayed
    • initially hidden, but can be displayed by the end user
    • always shown
  5. Save your entries.

You have set the initial configuration for the columns. Based on this, the end user can make the settings he or she requires.
