In this step, you determine the various authorization profiles that define the authorizations of individual users. Profiles contain authorization objects for limited task areas and the relevant authorization for these. You create the authorization profile for a user in the user master record.
Standard settings
SAP delivers a general model profile as standard which contains all PD authorizations.
Model profile with all authorizations:
P_PLAN all PD authorizations
Recommendation
If you define your own profiles, the authorizations should start with the letters Y or Z. These name ranges are specially reserved for customers in the standard SAP R/3 system.
Activities
- Check the standard profile.
- If this profile is insufficient, define new profiles which meet your requirements for the various user groups. Use the standard model profile to do so.
- Combine the authorizations into one profile.
