In this step, you make the settings for connection to an electronic communication system. To do this, specify the subtype of the infotypes "Mail Address" (1032) and "Communication" that is valid for the receiving address.
You also specify the target system (RFC destination) for the messages sent.
Requirements
- In the step "Maintain subtypes" you should check whether subtype 0001 exists for the PD infotype 1032 "Mail Address"
- In the step "Create communications types", check whether the same subtype exists for the infotype "Communication" (0105).
- In the step "Define RFC destination", check whether a valid connection has been created for the target system.
Standard settings
- The "Value abbreviation" field of the entry "MAIL SAPSY" contains subtype 0001 for infotypes 1032 "Mail Address" and 0105 "Communication".
- The "Value abbreviation" field of the entry "MAIL DESTN" contains no value (i.e. in the standard SAP R/3 system, the target system for messages sent is the system that you are currently logged onto).
Recommendation
You should copy the standard settings.

- Check whether the correct system name is entered in the "Value abbreviation" field of the entry "MAIL SAPSY".
- Check whether a valid RFC destination (or blank) is entered in the "Value abbrevaiation" field of the entry "MAIL DESTN".
