In this step you can define markups and markdowns for the transfer price (opportunity interest rate). To do this, for each markup or markdown of the costing rule, you assign a procedure number for the calculation procedure and a yield curve with a + or - sign. For the calculation procedure you can choose whether the opportunity interest rate is to be calculated from the term of the transaction (01) or from the cash flow (02). The system calculates the markup or markdown from the yield curve using the transaction currency (opportunity contribution in transaction currency) or the local currency (opportunity contribution in local currency). You have the option of assigning the markups/markdowns for the opportunity contribution, which result from the markups/markdowns for the opportunity interest rate, to value fields that you can choose yourself. You can also control whether these markups/markdowns are to be added to the opportunity contribution directly.

Example

Requirements

You define whether markups/markdowns are to be taken into account when the system calculates the opportunity interest rate by making the appropriate setting in Create Fixed Procedures in the costing rule. You can maintain "Markups and markdowns for the opportunity interest rate" for all transactions for which the opportunity contribution is calculated on the basis of average values. Note that here the calculation procedure for calculating the opportunity interest rate from the cash flow (02) can be used for loan transactions only. For these transactions, the opportunity contribution has to be calculated on the basis of average values, and the distribution of values to periods has to be based on average volume. You make both these settings (opportunity contribution based on average values, and distribution to periods based on the average volume) in costing rule maintenance under Create Fixed Procedures.
