When you set up your system, you may decide to work with several operating concerns. When you execute some functions within Profitability Analysis, you receive a dialog box in which you must specify:
- The operating concern you want to work in
- The type of profitability analysis
All the functions you carry out after that will apply to the operating concern you 'set' here.
Requirements
You must first maintain your organizational structures (operating concern, controlling areas and company codes) and assignments in the global settings organizational unit in the Implementation Guide.
To do so you must process the following steps:
- "Create operating concern"
- "Create controlling area "
- "Create company code"
- "Assign controlling area to operating concern"
- "Assign company code to controlling area"
You can make the corresponding settings in the enterprise structure step of the Implementation Guide.
Activities
Set the operating concern you want to process and the type of Profitability Analysis you want to use.
Additional Information
The operating concern you specify here is only stored until you log off the system or until you set it again. It is not stored in your user master record.
By entering the user parameter "ERB" in the user master record, you can set an operating concern as a default value which will not be lost when you log off the system. With the parameter "ETP", you can also store the type of profitability analysis.
If you use these parameters, you do not need to set the operating concern, since the system will assume that you always want to use the operating concern stored. If you want to use a different operating concern or type of profitability analysis, you can change the setting using this function. That way you can override the parameters stored in your user master.
You can also execute the function "Set operating concern" in the application menu in Profitability Analysis by choosing Environment.
