A general ledger transaction summarizes postings of several transactions in the current account system to one transaction, enabling the assignment to a general ledger account or to the updating type.
You create a general ledger transaction for a general ledger variant.
Example
A general ledger transaction debit interest summarizes the transactions debit interest, interest for a returned debit, interest for a returned check.
Standard settings
SAP supplies example settings for transaction types and their assignment. Take a look at these and adapt them to the transaction types you use.
Recommendation
When you are planning your general ledger transactions, ensure that you at least summarize all payment transaction operations and all income related transactions each to one general ledger transaction.
Activities
Create the general ledger transactions you need and in the next step allocate the corresponding transactions of the current account system to them.
