In this step, you define your valuation model and assign all necessary selection classes. You also define the evaluation of each selection class within the valuation model. The valuation model determines how the employee data from the individual infotype records is evaluated in the calculation of the employment period. For an example, see Valuation Model.

Requirements

You have worked through the steps Define Selection Rule and Define Selection Class.

Standard settings

A predefined valuation model is assigned to the calculation processes or the accompanying process steps in the standard system.

Recommendation

Copy the valuation model from the standard system to your customer name range before you make any changes.

Activities

  1. Check the valuation model in the standard system.
  2. Copy the valuation model from the standard system to your customer name range or create your own valuation model using New entries.
  3. Select your valuation model and choose Assignment of selection classes to valuation models in the overview tree.
  4. Assign all required selection classes to your valuation model.
  5. Under Details, define the evaluation of each selection class in your valuation model.

You can make the following settings:

    1. Weighting factor
    2. If required, use a numerator/denominator combination to define a weighting factor for the selection class within the valuation model
    3. Upper and lower limit for selection class
    4. You can define a maximum value as the upper limit and a threshold value as the lower limit. For more information, see Threshold Value and Maximum Value for a Selection Class.
    5. Interruption-relevance
    6. You can specify that the interval from a selection class is interruption-relevant. For more information, see Interruption Relevance of Selection Class. You enter the duration of the interruption in the detail view for the valution model.
    7. Priority
    8. You can define a relative priority between selection classes in a valuation model. For more information, see Priority Between Selection Classes.
  6. Save your entries.

Further notes

When you have defined your valuation model, you assign it to a valuation process or to its process step. This is done in the step Assign Valuation Model and Rounding Rule to Process Step.

For more information on the Weighting, Threshold Value and Maximum Value, Interruption Relevance, and Priority functions, see the SAP Library documentation Calculation of Employment Period.
