In this step, you define the rounding rules for the calculation of the employment period. You have set up the valuation model in the previous step. The valuation model specifies time data such as years, months, days, and, if required, decimal days. With the help of rounding rules, you can round the decimal days, days, and months up or down. The system always rounds to the higher unit.

The rounding rule converts 30 days to one month and 12 months to one year. Only use a rounding rule if the calculation process is evaluated in years, months, and days using the conversion rule. Otherwise, the rounding rule will generate unwanted results. If the evaluation only uses days, the rounding rule would round a result of 80 days to months, 20 days.

Activities

  1. Check the rounding rules present in the SAP standard system.

    To do this, select a rounding rule and choose Detail.

  2. If necessary, create further rounding rules.

    To do this, choose New entries.

  3. Save your entries.
