Use

In this Customizing activity, you can import data from a Microsoft Excel workbook to create or update multiple capacity assignments of a bucket simultaneously.

The Microsoft Excel workbook that you can import contains the Capacity Assignment sheet.

Requirements

You have defined the fields for the import workbook in the Customizing activity Configure Fields for Mass Import.

Standard settings

Activities

You can download the Microsoft Excel workbook as a template that includes all the fields available. To start this activity, you select the file type, and then choose Display DX Layout.

You can populate the workbook with information for one of the following operations: create and assign new resources, or update existing resources. To perform different operations you must create and import separate workbooks.

  • Create

When you import the workbook, new resources are created. If an error occurs during the mass import, only those objects for which errors occurred are not imported.

  • Change

When you import the workbook, the available resource data is updated.

For each of the operations above, you can choose Test Run so that the import runs and messages are generated, but the data is not saved to the portfolio. If no errors occur, you can then run the import.

After each import, the system records all successes and errors in the application log.
