Use
The feature defines the Period Parameter (and Date Modifier) that should be used to define the Payroll Periods (and Pay Dates) that reflect the employee's Pay Reference Periods.
If the feature does not return a value then the PAE solution will use the Period Parameter (and Date Modifier) attached to the employee's payroll area.

Return Value Format: PP/DD
PP defines the Period Modifier for that group of employees.
DD defines the Date Modifier for that group of employees.
If either is left as "??", then the Period Modifier/Date Modifier from the employee's payroll area is used instead.
Example
(i.e. blank) Use employee's payroll area for Period Modifier and Date Modifier
??/98 Use employee's payroll area for Period Modifier, but use 98 as their Date Modifier
97/?? Use 97 as their Period Modifier, but use employee's payroll area for Date Modifier
97/98 Use 97 as their Period Modifier and use 98 as their Date Modifier
