Use
Postponement
Postponement of your employer duties is allowed at three points;
- Staging
- Hiring (if hired after staging)
- Attainment of EJH Status
The maximum period that you can postpone the employee's assessment is 3 months, but in unusual circumstances it is possible for there to be more than one postponement period for an employee.
The type of postponement notice you use dictates the postponement that will take place and for which employees;
GNA General Notice A (Postpone all employees)
GNB General Notice B (Postpone all employees not in a QPS)
TEW Tailored Notice - Entitled Worker (Postpone all EWs not in a QPS)
TJH Tailored Notice - Jobholder (Postpone all EJH and NEJH not in a QPS)
N.B. It is important to realise that Auto-Enrolment implies an employee being able to join a pension scheme at any point in the pay period.
If your current pension scheme configuration with SAP (or the pension scheme policy rules themselves) does not allow/expect employees to join the scheme on any date except the first of the pay period, then you will need to consider whether or not that needs to continue.
If it does need to continue then you will need to use postponement in feature GBAE1, GBAE2 and GBAE4 to postpone auto-enrolment until the first day of the pay period. This means that these features will need to be customised based on the Payroll Period Start Dates that you need to handle.
If you wish to postpone Auto-Enrolment manually, you can enter a postponement date on IT3297 and this will override both the feature and the BADI.
