Use
In this activity, you represent all guidelines according to which employees are entitled to request absences covered by FMLA.
For more information, see the SAP Library and choose Human Resources -> Payroll -> Payroll United States (PY-US) -> Gross Part of Payroll -> Family and Medical Leave Act -> Representation of FMLA Guidelines -> FMLA Rule.
If you want to use the actual hours worked calculate the hours worked in the last year, you must first set up a day balance in Customizing for Time Evaluation. The day balance is then filled with employees' working times in the day processing part of time evaluation.

Representing guidelines
Represent the guidelines you have that affect FMLA. Choose New Entries.
Enter the personnel subarea to which you want the FMLA rule to apply.
Enter a three-digit number and an easily identifiable name.
Specify the amount of entitlement in weeks that an employee receives when an FMLA request is approved.
Specify how long the entitlement is valid for and how you want the deduction interval to be determined.
Specify how long an employee must have worked in your company to be entitled to absences covered by FMLA.
Specify the method you want to use to determine the employee's length of service.
Enter the number of hours the employee has to have worked in the period you determine to be entitled to FMLA.
Specify whether you want the number of hours worked to be determined from the employee's work schedules or according to the time evaluation results.
Save your entries and exit the rule.
Enter the FMLA reasons to which you want the rule you just created to apply. Select the relevant FMLA rule and double-click on the Assignment of FMLA Reasons entry in the dialog structure.
Choose New Entries and insert the required FMLA reasons.
