Use
This Customizing activity describes the idea and the system behavior of the change of the process flow for initiatives, and provides a quick overview about all related settings:
- Status mapping in the Customizing activity Make Settings for the Status Mapping for Initiatives
- Customer-specific adjustment in the Customizing activity BAdI: Change Process for the Initiative
Within the productive system, if you have Admin authorization or a Responsible Person assignment on the corresponding initiative, you can change the initiative type of an initiative. The decision points and phases of the running initiative are then changed also to correspond with the new initiative type. An initiative can have several decision points or phases, so for an initiative type change to be possible it depends on the decision point that is currently in progress. You can only change a permitted initiative type that has been defined in Customizing activity Define Initiative Types with matching decision points that are available and active. You can choose whether completed decision points and corresponding phases are deleted or renamed according to the new initiative type decision points and phases.
In the Customizing activity Make Settings for the Status Mapping for Initiatives you can set up the configuration for change process status mapping. You define status mapping between initiative types and permitted target initiative types for switching to, and also between the corresponding lower-level decision points.
You can use the BAdI: Change Process for the Initiative to influence the result of the process change before information is saved to the database at a suitable location. It enables the transfer of data from old decision points and phases to the recreated business objects. You can use it to enhance the standard of the process change feature for the initiative.
Requirements
- You have activated the process change by choosing the Customizing activity Override Default Global Settings.
- You have set up the permitted initiative types for switching to by choosing the Customizing activity Define Initiative Types.
