Example 1: Puerto Rico has introduced an alternate method for tax calculation of bonus runs.
To use this alternate method, you execute this Customizing activity, choose New Entries and make the following settings (the formula relevant for Puerto Rico is 06):
- Tax Company: US01
- Tax Authority: PR
- Variable Key: PRAM (defined in Customizing activityDefine additional taxation attributes for tax company)
- Start Date: 01.01.2013
- End Date: 31.12.9999
- Default Supplemental Method: 09- System Default
- Formula Number: 06
- Rounding Indicator: 0 - Use Tax Authority Default
Example 2: For the Commonwealth of Virginia (VA), supplemental tax payments can be withheld as follows:
o Based on earnings, filing status and allowances (BSI method 9)
o At a flat rate (BSI method 1)
In the standard system, the default supplemental payment method for withholding tax is '9'. You have employees in Virginia and want to apply method '1' instead of '9' as default supplemental payment method for the entire tax authority. You execute this Customizing activity, choose New Entries, and make the following settings:
- Tax Company: US01
- Tax Authority: VA
- Variable Key: (blank)
- Start Date: 01.01.2009
- End Date: 31.12.9999
- Default Supplemental Method: 01 - Flat-Rate Method
- Formula Number: (blank)
- Rounding Indicator: 0 - Use Tax Authority Default
Example 3: Minnesota Unemployment shall be rounded down to Dollar amount.
