Use

In this Customizing activity you define the physical path and physical file names for uploading the relevant XML main schema (usually file name Transmission.xdp) from the application server in background processing or 'execute and print' processing. The XML main schema is required for creating the XML file from Tax Reporter (transaction PU19).

When requesting the download of an XML file from one of the following screens, as a first step the system requests that you upload the XML schema:

  • Magnetic media Files Display/Copy Utility ALV display
  • Magnetic media Files Display/Copy Utility

To link the physical file names from where the XML main schema as well as the subschemas should be uploaded to a logical file name, you execute the Cross-Client File Names/Paths (FILE) transaction in this Customizing activity.

Requirements

Standard settings

The file system configuration includes a logical File Name HR_US_TR_XML_SCHEMA and Logical File Path HR_US_TR, associated with Tax Reporter.

Activities

Execute this Customizing activity and proceed as follows:

  1. Define a physical path as follows:
    1. Choose Position.
    2. Enter HR_US_TR.
    3. Choose Continue.
    4. Select the corresponding row.
    5. Double click the dialog structure Assignment of Physical Paths to Logical Path.
    6. Choose New Entries.
    7. Assign a physical path name to the logical path name.
      8. Warning
      When assigning path names, the symbol <FILENAME> must appear at the end. This symbol is replaced at runtime by the physical file (or path) name. No part of the physical file name in the path name must be defined.
    8. Save your entries
  2. Define a file name as follows:
    1. Double click the dialog structure Logical File Name Definition, Cross-Client.
    2. Choose Position.
    3. Enter HR_US_TR_XML_SCHEMA.
    4. Choose Continue.
    5. Double-click the corresponding row.
    6. Maintain the fields Physical File and Logical Path.
      7. In the Physical File field, enter the required physical file name.
      The following optional parameters for the physical file name and physical path are of particular interest here:
      - PARAM_1: Tax Form to be downloaded as XML (16 characters you define in Customizing activity Define original tax forms in dialog structure Tax Forms).
      - PARAM_2: Tax Company for which the XML is generated (4 characters as used on the selection screen of Tax Reporter).
      In the Logical Path field, you assign the previously defined logical path name to the current logical file names. You can assign a logical path name to several file names.
    7. Save your entries
