Use
Use the Third Child Maternity Leave (3CML) functionality to:
- Maintain information about the 3CML leave taken by your employees.
- Generate the Form ML2, which you need to submit to the government for claiming the 3CML benefit salary given to an employee.
Requirements
Standard settings
Activities
For the proper functioning of the 3CML functionality:
- Create an absence leave in the Absence infotype (2001) under the Third Child Maternity Leave (0700) subtype.
Creating the leave for 3CML in turn triggers the creation of the following records in the Actions infotype (0000):
- A record with Reason for action being the Start of 3CML. The start date for this record is the same as the start date of the Absences infotype (2001) record.
- A record with Reason for action being the End of 3CML. The start date for this record is one day added to the end date of the Absences infotype (2001) record.
- For example, you create a 3CML leave in the Absences infotype (2001) under the Third Child Maternity Leave (0700) subtype. The Start Date for the record is the 01st April 2001, and the End Date is 25h May 2001.
- In this case, the first Reason for Action record will have the start date as 01st April 2001, and the second Reason for Action record will have the start date as 26th May 2001.
For more information, see the following IMG activities:
- Payroll Singapore -> Third Child Maternity Leave -> Create Absence Type for 3CML
- Payroll Singapore -> Third Child Maternity Leave -> Create Action Type for 3CML
- Payroll Singapore -> Third Child Maternity Leave -> Create Reason for Action
- Configure the 3CML features. You can configure the 3CML features through the following IMG activities:
- Payroll Singapore -> Third Child Maternity Leave -> Configure 3CML subtype
- Payroll Singapore -> Third Child Maternity Leave -> Specify Maximum Limit for 3CML Benefit Salary
- Configure the Processing Class and Evaluation Class of the 3CML wage types:
- The wage type to be considered as the Ordinary Wages (OW) of 3CML must have the Processing Class (P88) equal to 1, and the Evaluation Class 16 equal to 01.
- The wage type to be considered as the Additional Wages of 3CML must have the Processing Class (P88) equal to 2, and the Evaluation Class 16 equal to 02.
- You can accordingly configure the other 3CML wage types which you want reported in the Form ML2.
- You can configure the 3CML processing class and Evaluation Class through the IMG under: Payroll Singapore -> Third Child Maternity Leave -> Check Wage Types for 3CML
Upon running the payroll for the first month of the 3CML benefit period, the system:
- Collects the 3CML wage types, and
- cumulates all wage types with P88 equal to 1 into the OW for 3CML wage type (/CL6)
- cumulates all wage types with P88 equal to 2 into the AW for 3CML wage type (/CL7 )
- cumulates all wage types with P88 equal to 3 into the OW/AW for 3CML(No CPF contribution) wage type (/CL8)
- stores the sum of OW for 3CML wage type (/CL6) and AW for 3CML wage type (/CL7 ) into the Gross Rate of Pay wage type (/CL2)
- Calculates benefit salary:
- If there is no change in salary during the benefit period, the system calculates the CPF based on the wage types /CL6 and /CL7. It calculates the benefit salary using the formula -
- Benefit salary = (/CL6+/CL7+ER Cpf)*12*No. of Benefit days in this period/365
- The system then reads the 3CML feature for the maximum limit of the 3CML benefit salary, and calculates the benefit salary accordingly.
- If there is a salary change in the benefit period, the system separately calculates the benefit salary for the period before the change in salary and that for the period after the change in salary. It then cumulates the benefit salary for the month. The process it follows for calculating the 3CML benefit salary is the same as when there is no change in salary.
