The SAP system uses the interest calculation method 30/360 for company loans in the standard system. This method assumes that there are 30 interest days for every month and 360 interest days for the annual interest basis. In this step, you can specify an interest calculation method for your enterprise that is different to this standard method.
To do so, you use the feature INTLO (HR Loans: Interest Calculation Method), where you can select one of the usual interest calculation methods.
When doing so, you can specify that the interest calculation method
- Should apply for all loans in your system
- Should only apply for certain loan types
- Should only apply for certain loan conditions
Example
In your enterprise, the interest calculation method act/acty (Tagesgenaue Zinsberechnung für Monat und Jahr) should be used for all loans of the loan type personal loan with installment repayment.
You create a node for the loan type 9234 with the return value 6 (act/acty) in the INTLO feature for your country grouping.

As an alternative to changing the interest calculation method using the INTLO feature, you can also assign an individual loan condition it's own interest calculation method, in this unit of the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Master Data -> Maintain Loan Types. However, we do recommend that you make the settings for the interest calculation method using the feature as it is much clearer.
