In this activity, you specify the number of times, any employee can be exempted from tax under the benefit of Leave Travel Allowance for the block specified in the previous step.

Example

In June 1999, the valid LTA block was specified for four years beginning 01-01-1998 and ending 01-01-2001, within which any employee can claim tax exemption on the maximum number of two journeys.

Mr. Singh goes on vacation in the years 1998, 1999 and 2000 but he will benefit from tax exemption only twice. He will not be eligible to claim further tax exemption on leave travel until the year 2001.
