Use

This customizing activity is used to specify the way in which the system will adjust industrial accident (IA) and industrial disease (ID) limits for daily employees.

There are two ways to adjust the maximum and minimum limits published monthly for calculating the IA and ID risk basis for daily-paid employees. If an employee is not active during the whole month, the monthly limits published by Social Insurance must be reduced to the corresponding fraction of days worked in order to obtain the correct basis.

The necessary feature to select the correct option is obtained through the control constant TOCPD. The constant default value is 1.

First option

For daily employees (contribution groups 8-11), the system makes the following calculation:

  • Reduced limit = (published monthly limit/calendar days in month )* days worked

In this way, the days worked by the daily employee correspond to the calendar days of the month and the published limit corresponds to the entire month (which can have 28, 29, 30 or 31 days). This procedure guarantees that a daily-paid employee who has worked the entire month and whose limit is either below the minimum limit or above the maximum will have a contribution basis exactly equal to that set by law.

This option corresponds to value 0 of constant TOCPD.

Second option

The monthly value published by law could be interpreted as always referring to 30 days. For daily employees, this means that the maximum or minimum limit must be adjusted in accordance with the number of calendar days in the month:

  • Adjusted limit = (monthly published limit / 30) * days worked

Some regional TGSS offices prefer to use this option.

This option corresponds to value 1 of constant TOCPD.

Activities

  1. Check that the standard value provided by SAP meets your needs.
  2. If necessary, adjust the settings to suit your company.

Note:

Bear in mind that if you change the value of a SAP standard constant, you run the risk of SAP overwriting this value in a future release or future system update.
