Use
When sending sensitive data from the SAP system via the Internet, you have to encrypt the data beforehand.
The encryption procedure to be used for the electronic data exchange is specified by the relevant authority in the technical description.
The corresponding procedure is then set up for communication with the authorities using the B2A Manager for each wage type application (for example, tax, statements).
Example
For the exchange of sick pay statements between employers and the data collection points of health insurance funds, the PEM procedure (Privacy Enhanced Mail) is specified as the encryption algorithm for the ITSG (Informationstechnische Servicestelle der Gesetzlichen Krankenkassen GmbH (IT service of the compulsory health insurance funds)).
Activities
For the encryption conversion, SAP collaborates with third-party providers of encryption software. These companies' products are linked to the SAP system via an open interface, known as a Secure Store and Forward (SSF) interface.
