Perform this activity to specify a date globally, within your system, for the introduction of WPBP splits for employee tax wage types. Executing this activity to specify such a date enables your system to attain higher accuracy in posting these wage types for periods where the Cheque date falls on or after the date specified here.
Example
Set a date of September 1, 2003 - that is, 20030901 - to ensure that employee tax wage types will receive WPBP splits in all payroll runs whose cheque date is higher than August 31, 2003.
Standard settings
As delivered, the standard system features a default date of January 1, 2004 - that is, 20040101. If you enter a date that falls after this default date, then the system will still consider the default date of January 1, 2004 for calculation purposes.
Recommendation
We recommend that you enter a date in the future that falls after the cheque date of the last payroll run. Otherwise, significant inconsistencies may occur during subsequent retroactive payroll runs.
