In this section, you can set the default values to determine the following leaving-related payments:

  • Voluntary severance pay
  • Statutory severance pay
  • Pension severance pay
  • Special rationalization payment
  • Payment in lieu of unused leave
  • Pay in lieu of notice
  • Penalty contribution

Use

The Payments Upon Leaving (0527) infotype is used to determine payments such as statutory severance pay, payments in lieu of unused leave, pay lieu of notice, and penalties. These payment amounts are calculated based on a wide range of information, such as the average salary of the previous few months, the employment period of the employee, or the number of calendar days of remaining leave for the employee.

This data must be available for calculation purposes and is generated as follows: When an employee leaves, the HR Administrator creates a Payments Upon Leaving infotype record. The system fills this infotype record with default values from the master data and with data from a payroll simulation. You can set an indicator for the infotype to indicate that the values are to be determined automatically in payroll. The values in payroll are then determined at the same time as the default values, based on, however, the most recent time data. If the automatic calculation does not meet the relevant requirements, you can override the infotype values manually.

Standard settings

Based on the above description, the following Customizing settings need to be made:

  • Settings relating to payroll
    • In personnel calculation rule AUUR, average wage types are generated, which subsequently include the average remuneration values of the previous few months. You can generate specific customer wage types in the personnel calculation rule.
    • The average values are determined in payroll function AVERA. Since these average values strongly depend on the relevant collective agreement specifications, SAP cannot make any settings in advance here.
    • The average wage types are imported into cumulation wage types in function P0527, where they are used as the basis for determining the assessment bases for the final payments upon leaving. The average wage types must be assigned to the cumulation wage types.
    • The severance pay amount consists of a number of monthly salaries. The number of monthly salaries is determined on the basis of the employment period of the employee. To calculate this, you need to make the relevant settings in Customizing.
    • For the payroll simulation, you need to provide a payroll variant, which can vary depending on the organizational grouping.
  • Settings relating to the Payments Upon Leaving 0527 infotype
    • For the calendar day default values, you can program a customer exit. In the standard SAP system, a default implementation is available for calculating the calendar days on the basis of the quotas in the Absence Quotas (2006) infotype.
    • When it comes to the deduction of leave, you can start a dynamic action from the Payments Upon Leaving (0527) infotype in order to generate an infotype record in the Time Quota Compensation (0416) infotype. You need to activate this add-on in the dynamic action.
    • Not every employee who leaves is entitled to penalty payments, even if the relevant age limit and employment period are met. To avoid having to make penalty payments for specific employees, you can activate an error message for the Payments Upon Leaving (0527) infotype for specific leaving reasons so that no penalties can be entered in these cases.
    • When you determine the penalty amount and severance pay amount, you enter the employment period. The default value is determined on the basis of the entry and leaving date. Instead of the entry date, you can alternatively use a date from the Date Specifications (0041) infotype. You must assign the desired date types to the relevant date indicators.
