To calculate social insurance contributions and deductions, the standard SAP R/3 system offers three options in regards to divisor type:

  • Use the divisor type entered in the first parameter of function ARPRO.
  • Use divisor type 30, regardless the type of divisor used for other calculations.
  • Use as the number of calendar days in the month as divisor type, regardless of the type of divisor used for other calculations.

In this section of the Implementation Guide, you can specify the divisor type that you want to use to calculate social insurance deductions and contributions.

Standard settings

To calculate social insurance deductions and contributions, the standard SAP R/3 system uses the divisor type entered in the first parameter of function ARPRO, i.e. divisor 30.
For additional information regarding the setting of function ARPRO, see the Implementation Guide, section Payroll Argentina -> Global settings -> Payroll organization -> Maintain payroll schema for divisor 30.

Recommendation

Activities

If you want to calculate social insurance deductions and contributions using the same divisor type used in function ARPRO, then you do not need to carry out any activity.

If you want to calculate social insurance deductions and contributions using a divisor type other than that used in function ARPRO, you should:

  1. Check whether you have copied payroll schema AR00 to your own schema.
    1. If you have already copied payroll schema AR00 to your own schema, go to step 3 and follow the instructions using your own schema.
    2. If you have yet not copied payroll schema AR00 to your own schema, go to step 2 and follow the instructions.
  2. Copy payroll schema AR00 to your own schema, which must be given a name that falls within the customer names range, such as for instance, ZAR0.
  3. Copy the payroll subschema ARSS to your own subschema, which must be given a name that falls within the customer names range, such as for instance ZARS.
  4. Change this new subschema (ZARS) as follows:
    1. If you want to use 30 as the number of days in each month when calculating social insurance deductions and contributions (divisor 30), enter 30 in column Par1 of line Deductions and contributions calculation (function ARSES).
    2. If you want to use the number of calendar days in each month as a divisor when calculating social insurance deductions and contributions, enter C in column Par1 of line Deductions and contributions calculation (function ARSES).
    3. Save and activate this modification.
  5. Include this new changed subschema (ZARS) in the new payroll schema (ZAR0).
  6. Save your entries.

Note

It is important to keep in mind that the value entered in the first parameter of function ARSAC is NOT used for calculation SAC deductions and contributions. In this case, the system will only take into account the value entered in the first parameter of function ARSAC, because otherwise the calculations in general would not be coherent.

For additional information regarding the setting of function ARSAC, see the Implementation Guide, section Payroll -> SAC ->Define divisor type for SAC calculation

Further notes

Use your own schema for all your payroll runs.

For additional information, see the documentation for function ARSES.

For further information regarding the copying of schemas, see the transaction help.
