If the user wants to use a seniority different from the one that corresponds him according to the infotype Organizational assignment (0001) to calculate employee compensations, he should update infotype Schedule data (0041) for the employee. In order to update this infotype, it is necessary to define a date type and a date indicator. This can be done through the implementation guide, in the section Personal management -> Personal management -> Valuation basis -> Schedule data -> Fix type of date.
In the particular case of seniority for calculation of compensations, it is necessary to use the date indicator 29 always. That is, the type of date that the user wants to use in infotype Schedule data (0041) to calculate compensations, should be associated to date indicator 29, in the activity of the implementation guide mentioned above.
Further notes
Infotype Schedule data (0041) can also be used to define a particular seniority for vacations.
If the seniority for vacations has to be equal to the seniority for compensations, the user will have to use the same type of date and date indicator (29) for both.
If the seniority for vacations has to be different from the seniority for compensations, the type of date used in infotype Schedule data (0041) for vacations should be associated to a date indicator different from 29.
